Asunción – Estancia San Francisco – Bella Vista – Foz do Iguacu

Day 1: Asunción
Arrival at the Asunción Airport and transport to the Hotel.
Take an afternoon tour and explore the city of Asunción - a city with a million inhabitants and a rather down to earth, original, and provincial feeling instead of a hectic pace. Visit the old train station which boasts the oldest railway in South America (no longer in service), the Panteón, the Government Palace and stroll down the main street „Calle Palma” with us. Experience a typical South America market atmosphere at the Pettirossi Market and take advantage of the inexpensive shopping.

Day 2: Asunción – Estancia “San Francisco”Today, your journey takes you over Paraguarí and Villa Florida to Estancia, San Francisco, a typical cattle farm. Take part in Estancia everyday life, and put your horse-riding abilities to the test. One can also fish in a nearby river or relax by a small pool. Lunch and dinner at Estancia.

Day 3: Estancia “San Francisco” - Bella Vista
In late morning we leave for Bella Vista. On the way, we visit the ruins of the former Jesuit community Trinidad del Paraná. Under the guidance of spanish Jesuit Padres, the Guarani Indians established a huge complex with towers, ramparts and cathedrals houses for 4,000 people in the then impenetrable jungle. Experience the magic of this location.

Day 4: Bella Vista – Foz do Iguacu
Early in the morning we drive 250 km to the city of Ciudad del Este. There, we begin a sightseeing tour. A documentary on the origins of this giant plant will be shown, followed by a bus tour to the 8 km-wide dam. After this, we leave Paraguay, crossing the „Bridge of Friendship“ to Brazil. Here, we visit one of the largest waterfalls in the world. The waterfall stands 2700 meters wide, and falls 80 meters, creating quite the spectacle. The mist causes a rainbow which stretches over the falls, creating a natural phenomenon not to be missed.
