Asunción - Independencia - Bella Vista - Foz do Iguacu

Day 1: Asunción
Arrival at the Asunción Airport and transport to the Hotel.
Take an afternoon tour and explore the city of Asunción -a city with a million inhabitants and a rather down to earth, original, and provincial feeling instead of a hectic pace. Visit the old train station which boasts the oldest railway in South America (no longer in service), the Panteón, the Government Palace and stroll down the main street „Calle Palma“ with us. Experience a typical South America market atmosphere at the Pettirossi Market and take advantage of the inexpensive shopping.

Day 2: Asunción – Independencia
In mid-morning drive to Independencia- Check in at the hotel
In the afternoon visit a Brandy distillery and get a tour of the sugar cane fields and a liquor sample.
Afterwords, enjoy a dinner (buffet) in the German sport club Independencia.

Day 3: Independencia – Bella Vista
In the early morning, depart to the estancia Curuzú.
Learn more about the traditional cattle industry, and experience in wardrobe, a serious cattle bovine treatment. Also learn about the changes in the modern era, with the sustainable mixed forest reforestation.
At noon, we come together for an Asado (barbeque) at the Estancia. This program can vary based on the weather.
The trip continues at 15:00 to Bella Vista and later through the agricultural areas.

Day 4: Bella Vista
Visit the Yerba Mate factory. This is one of the largest manufacturers of Mate tea in Paraguay. It stores about 60,000 tons of tea in the warehouses here. You will receive an explanation of the process, from planting to harvesting, to packaging. Yerba Mate is avery typical drink in Paraguay, Argentina, southern Brazil and Uruguay. You will also have a direct conversation with a company employee.
Then, comes a visit to a farm with a tour of the farm and fields. Here you will also be able to talk directly to the locals and exchange experiences.
In the afternoon we visit the impressive Jesuit ruins in the towns of Trinidad (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Jesús. Under the guidance of Spanish Jesuit Padres, the Guarani Indians erected a huge complex in the middle of the then impenetrable jungle with towers, ramparts, a cathedral, and shelter for 4,000 people.

Day 5: Bella Vista – Foz do Iguacu
In the morning we will proceed to the city of Ciuded del Este. There, we start our sightseeing tour. First we tour Itaipu, the largest hydropower plant in the world. A documentary will explain the origins of this giant plant. Afterwords, we take a bus tour to an 8 km wide dam, with a view of an enormous turbine hall inside of the dam. After this, we leave Paraguay, crossing the „Bridge of Friendship“ to Brazil.

Day 6: Foz do Iguacu
In the morning, we will go to Brazil to visit one of the largest waterfalls in the world. The waterfall stands 2700 meters wide, and the water falls 80 meters, creating quite the spectacle. The mist causes a rainbow which stretches over the falls, creating a natural phenomenon not to be missed.
Then we will visit the Bird Park.
Rare and colourful birds fly in the huge aviaries which have been built to blend in with the humid subtropical florest. Visitors are able to enter these aviaries and view the birds at close quarters. They will also see alligators, anacondas, pythons, marmosets and butterflies.
Dinner at the Churassqueria Rafain + show (closed Sundays).

Day 7: Foz do Iguacu
Check out - Transfer to he airport.
