Visa
Citizens from the European Community or Mercosur do not need a visa to enter Paraguay. The passport / identification card has to have a minimum validity of 6 months after leaving the country. The tourist visa (valid for 90 days) will be stamped in the passport upon entering the country by customs authorities. Nevertheless, our recommendation to people interested in entering Paraguay is to request information from the respective authorities regarding entrance conditions.

Flights / Baggage
The national airport tax must be paid by the traveler in the respective airports (US$ 5 for national flights and US$ 25 in Paraguay and US$ 38 in Brazil for international flights).
Most airlines offer a 33% discount for children between the ages of 2 - 11.

Tour guides
We offer a guaranteed realization of each trip with a local guide with a minimum of two participants. What this means is that passengers will be received by our guides and transferred to the following meeting point at the end of the program.

For your information: The tours marked with SIB (Seat in bus) are regular scenic tours. In some situations we consider it more informative for the traveler if a local guide who is not an employee of our company carries out the tours since in some cases this can also be the most inexpensive option.
Additional note: Optional tours that are offered represent an additional service and shall not be carried out by Sudamerika Line S.R.L.

Hotels
Our offers include good to very good hotels. We evaluate the categories considering our own evaluation (based on our experiences).

• 2* - simple and clean rooms, tourist class hotel or guesthouse
• 3* - medium class hotel
• 4* - international-level standard hotel, with first class service and with very well equipped rooms

The hotels mentioned in the scenic trips can be substituted by other hotels from the same category in
the short term due to specific unforeseen circumstances.

Health
Currently, for those coming from Europe there is no predetermined vaccination for South American countries except for some regions.
A vaccination is generally recommended against tetanus and polio. Vaccinations against yellow fever and malaria are recommended for Brazil (Pantanal [Marshland] area) and Bolivia. Anyway, ask your doctor and/or public health authorities before beginning your trip.

Method of Payment
The dollar is the reference currency in all Latin America and thus accepted in all places as a method of payment. You should bring small denominations especially for daily trips to rural areas.
Checks (Travelers’ Checks) are only accepted in some cases. On the other hand, international credit cards are accepted at all places as a method of payment.

Insurance
We recommend travel insurance in order to avoid financial loss due to possible cancellations.
Check if your insurance is valid for Paraguay.
